Sonoma County Syrah 2015

Floral licorice and blue fruit present themselves on the nose, while a claret-style mouthfeel with elegant tannins greet one on the mid-palate. This wine is dry yet juicy with dark fruit, coarse pepper, and a wonderful presence of spice lingering on the finish.

Winemaker Notes

The Knight Family grows the small amount of Syrah for us on the Western edge of the Sonoma Valley AVA. We crushed and fermented it separately, aged it for its first year in mostly neutral oak, then blended 14% of our Pitts Home Ranch Zin for additional complexity, and aged 10 additional months. it was racked several times for tannin and oxygen management.
