Sonoma County RandyZin Blend 2005

Tasting Notes

Opulent in color, this full-flavored Zin begins its journey with smoky, dark berries on the nose... On the entrance, this wine fills the mouth full and round, and on the finish its all about mouthwatering acidity and bright berries. Dry and balanced.

Winemaker Notes

The 2005 RandyZin is a compilation of 90% Zinfandel predominately from fruit grown in the Russian River Valley, and 10% Syrah. In 2005, we secured a great source of old vine Lodi Zinfandel, which comprises 20% of the master blend. With Zin grown in Lodi having higher Ph's and lowers acidity, this addition balanced out the higher acidity found in our RRV zins, allowing the wine to taste big bodied while preserving the juicy acidity and "cocktail" factor.
