A classic RandyZin blend consisting of Zinfandel, Syrah, Sangiovese and a bit of Petite Sirah. This wine opens beautifully with perfumey ripe, dark red fruit. This new release is really coming into its own with caramel lining the edges and rounded pomegranate on the nose. Perfect summer simmer... leaving you with faint pepper and spice on the finish and wanting more. The RandyZin represents our desire in Sonoma County to truly enjoy life and not take ourselves too serious. It's important to offer a high caliber wine to our members for under $20. The 2009 RandyZin is a compilation of 80% Zinfandel, 10% Syrah, 8% Sangiovese and 2% Petite Sirah predominately from fruit grown in the Russian River Valley as well as other varieties grown throughout Sonoma County. The Syrah comes off a hillside southern exposure vineyard in Riebli Valley and Sangiovese comes from Alexander Valley. These two wines bring lower acid levels than the Zinfandel, which allows the blend to be able to drink now, yet can lie down for 3-5 years.
20% UMX Radaux hybrid barrels.
