Estate Dry Gewürztraminer 2010

Tasting Notes

Fresh tart summer melon aromas with tropical hints of guava and grapefruit, a light creaminess on the mid palate, and a delightful crisp fresh finish. This Dry Gewurtzraminer has all the bells and whistles of a world class Chardonnay. Refreshing and enjoyable walking through the garden on those hot summer evenings.

Winemaker Notes

This fruit comes from a 35-year-old vineyard off our Russian River Valley Home Ranch. The cane-pruned vines ensure a low yield of approximately 2.2 tons/acre which creates incredibly intense aromas and flavor profiles. Unlike traditional Gewurztraminers, this wine was fermented to a bone dry level and was introduced to malolactic bacteria and a few weeks of new French oak, lending the light-bodied wine a creamy mouth feel, yet preserving the refreshingly dry crisp flavors.
