Citrus and floral aromas with dry, yet juicy, long finish.
The 2013 vintage offers more of the bright citrus and tart melon from slightly cooler summer nights. Perfumed honey and classic leechy notes warm to a light creaminess on the mid palate and finishes wiht a delightfully crisp, dry, citrus zing. This dry Gewertraminer is refreshing and enjoyable walking through the garden on those hot summer evenings! Perfect summer sipper! Also incredible with crab cakes, oysters on the half and deep-fried calamari. Cellar gracefully until 2018.
This fruit comes from a 38 year old vineyard off our Russian River Valley Home Ranch. The cane-pruned vines ensure a low yield of approximately 2.2 tons per acre which creates incredibly intense aromas and flavor profiles. Unlike traditional Gewurztraminer's, this wine was fermented to a bone-dry level and was introduced to malolactic bacteria and a few weeks of new French oak, lending the light-bodied wine a creamy mouth feel, yet preserving the refreshingly dry crisp flavors.
