Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Earthly green olive and sage aromas, dark cocoa and a toasted caramel finish. 100% Cab.

Tasting Notes

This Old World style Cabernet is incredibly balanced with dusty herbal notes and elegant cocoa spice. This wine is structured with slight tannins gripping and releasing ever so quickly. There is a green olive note that playfully skirts around the edges and continues on to the finish. Beautiful old style, elegant Cabernet.

Winemaker Notes

2011 was the coldest summer in over 40 years. This extremely cool growing season brought about some very exotic flavors in our Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon. We were lucky to even harvest our Cab, but as not only were the summer days peaking out at a mere 75 degrees, but wine country experienced early rains which nearly put our season to bed. There were vineyards in Sonoma County where the grapes were not picked and the result was rotten grapes. Making elegant styled, low alcohol wines saved us in 2011.
