Juicy green olive, tart cherry notes, warm toasted cocoa with lingering spice. 100% Cab.
This wine needs to rest in bottle due to the high tannins and acid structure. The aromas are bright with earthy green olive and exotic spices on the nose, it is almost reminiscent of spiced, Mexican hot cocoa. This wine is structured with slight tannins gripping and releasing ever so quickly. There is a green olive note that playfully skirts around the edges and continues on to the finish. Beautiful old style, elegant Cabernet.
2010 growing season was colder than normal. The spring started off warm with a great bud break and fruit set, then the summer weather patterns turned cold and foggy. This vintage would be considered a "lean" year. In August we had a heat spell that damaged many of the ripening clusters forcing growers to drop the burnt fruit which in the long run made for additional complexities and layers in our wines.
Our Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cab from a single vineyard nestled up against the mountainside in the heart of the Dry Creek Valley.
