Checking in with a 17 year old RRV Pinot Noir
A blog by Colter Cline
Have you ever had a Pinot Noir that 17 years old and still amazing? We did! Towards the end of the day Randy was wanting to bottle some Savage Zin that was still in the tank so he could take some home. We didn't have any empty bottles laying around. So, he grabbed a bottle of '02 Pinot to empty thinking that it would most likely be passed it's date. However, it wasn't! There was only millimeters of dry cork left.
The '02 Russian River Pinot Noir is still alive with dark raspberry, new leather, and forest floor on the nose. The palate hits with dark cherry, black olive, and spice. This wine needs to be drinking now and would be a great wine to have at Thanksgiving! Cheers! 0.jpg
