Grower & Winemaker's Notes

This blend consists of approximately 55% Estate fruit and the balance grown by neighbors here on Olivet and Piner Road. 2002 was an challenging vintage in the Russian River as much of the old vine Zin had a difficult time ripening due to the cool finish of the growing season. Fortunately, all of the components making up this wine had no problem with maturation and we are able to offer something special and unique.

Tasting Notes

This wine is a local wine. It grew, fermented and aged all within a few miles of the Estate. We believe the key to Russian River Valley is its ability to ripen robust reds like Zinfandel, yet still retains those lively, fresh acids found in the wines. Inside our Russian River Valley Zin, the home chef will encounter rich raspberry and black pepper powder suductively lingering in the glass. This wine will taste its best from 2005 on and will continue for the next decade.
