Grower & Winemaker's Notes

The 2007 RandyZin is a compilation of 80% Zinfandel predominately from fruit grown in the Russian River Valley as well as other varieties grown throughout Sonoma County. We blend in small amounts of syrah and Sangio each year as they contain lower acid levels than our Zin allowing the overall blend to taste ready to drink young yet can lay down for 3-5 years easily.  This is a fun wine to make as we get to flirt with  different varieties yet also challenging because it requires careful and thoughtful planning to bring about the cocktail factor famously found in every bottle.  

Tasting Notes

Sumptuous in color, our ’07 RandyZin blend begins its journey with fine black pepper powder and dark fruit aromas while on the entrance, this wine fills the mouth with spicy dark grapeberry.  On the finish, it's all about the juicy mouthwatering acidity and fragrant black spice ... And with a moderate 14.6% alcohol, our 2007 RandyZin is dry and balanced…

The RandyZin represents our desire in Sonoma County to truly enjoy life and not take ourselves too serious.
