Grower & Winemaker's Notes

The 2007 vintage Sonoma Harvest  took me to unique vineyards all over Sonoma County. The grapes were harvested with lower sugars than typical (23 brix) so that pyrizine found in Bordeaux varietals could be captured in the grape at higher levels. There's more syrah than years prior which accounts for clove and   We love making wine from the Altes southern exposure hillside Vineyard.  Each wine was fermented and barreled separate for 20 full months in barrels in order for each varietal to offer a distinct layer in the wine.  After one month on the blending tank, we bottled this wine with light-medium filtration and bottled in July 2009.

Tasting Notes

This balanced Bordeaux based table wine is crafted with your table in mind.  Dusty herbs and coco aromas greets with tart coco clove delivered on the palate.  The juicy candied caramel finish packs a velvet punch which slowly dissipates.  This wine needs to unwind for a few years and will continue for a decade, although performs flawlessly when decanted for a few hours after work prior to din din.
